UNIDP is mandated by the UN General Assembly to advance inclusive development — economic, social, and civic — in every member state that requests our support.

We operate through country offices staffed largely by nationals of the countries we serve. Programmes are co-designed with governments, community organisations, and the people they aim to reach.

We hold ourselves to a simple test: does this initiative reach the households, neighbourhoods, and groups who have historically been excluded? If not, we redesign it.
